考研英語高分策略 學透“比較結構”
對于歷年考研英語各題型的難度，五大題型（完型、傳統閱讀、閱讀新題型、翻譯和寫作）中要數翻譯最難。從近年來翻譯得分情況來看：理想的平均成績徘徊在5分至5.5分之間，成績不理想的時候分數在3分至3.5分之間，由此我們得出結論：同學們在翻譯這個題上處于劣勢。那么怎樣才能使同學們在今后處理翻譯題時轉被動為主動，提高翻譯成績呢？只需要從弄懂“比較結構”開始。
本文將對比較結構進行分類規整，讓大家再也不會被繁雜凌亂的比較結構所困擾。比較結構分為以下兩大類：
一、表示兩類事物一樣時，有以下結構：
1. as…… as……：和……一樣……
2. as much / many…as…：和……一樣多的……
3. no less……than ……（=not any less……than……）：和……一樣都……
4. no more……than ……（=not any more……than……）：和……一樣不……
二、表示兩類事物不同時，有以下結構：
1. more …than……：比……多，比……更加；與其說是（后者），不如說是（前者）
2. less …than……（=not so much……as……）：比……少；與其說是（前者），不如說是（后者）
3. not so…… as……：是（后者），不是（前者）
比較結構在考研中的應用比較靈活，如果僅僅是對比較結構的短語死記硬背，那么在考試時遇到句子還是不能理解。因此，對比較結構的分析顯得尤為重要。接下來將以真題句子為例，給大家演示比較結構句子如何分析，如何理解。
例1：But his primary task is not to think about the moral code， which governs his activity， any more than a businessman is expected to dedicate his energies to an exploration of rules of conduct in business. （2006年第49題）
【分析】
A. 句子拆分：But his primary task is not // to think about the moral code//， which governs his activity， //any more than a businessman is expected to dedicate his energies to an exploration of rules of conduct in business.
本句的主語為his primary task，is not是系動詞，to think about the moral code是表語，which governs his activity定語從句，修飾the moral code；any more than a businessman is expected to dedicate his energies to an exploration of rules of conduct in business是比較狀語從句。
B. 詞義確定：moral code道德準則；dedicate to致力于，獻身于；exploration探究，探討
C. 參考譯文：但是，他的首要任務并不是考慮支配自己行為的道德準則，就如同我們不能指望商人專注于探討行業規范一樣。
D. 技巧點撥：本題考查的是no more than 的變體not…any more than，這兩個結構都是表示兩個事物之間的類比關系，由上下文可判斷這里類比的對象是his primary task和businessman.該結構表示兩者都否定。因此，主句需要否定，譯為“他的主要任務不是……”，而且從句里謂語is expected是肯定形式，但翻譯時一定要譯成否定“不能指望”。
例2：Science moves forward， they say， not so much through the insights of great men of genius as because of more ordinary things like improved techniques and tool. [1994年第71題]
【分析】
A. 句子拆分：Science moves forward， they say， not so much // through the insights of great men of genius // as because of more ordinary things like improved techniques and tool.
句中they say為插入語；Science是句子的主語，moves forward為謂語， not so much…as…是比較結構；其中，through the insights of great men of genius和because of more ordinary things like improved techniques and tool為被比較對象。
B. 詞義確定：move forward前進，發展；insight洞察力，深刻見解；genius天才
C. 參考譯文：他們說，科學的發展與其說源于天才偉人的真知灼見，不如說源于改進了的技術和工具等更為普通的東西。
D. 技巧點撥：本題考查的是not so much A as B 這一比較句型。比較的對象是兩個介詞短語：through the insights of great men of genius 和because of more ordinary things like improved techniques and tool，是對science moves forward（科學發展）這個事情的兩種途徑進行比較，即同一事物的兩個方面進行比較，所以此比較結構譯為“與其說……不如說……”。
綜上所述，在強化階段，要掌握以上兩大類比較結構，除了記住這些表達之外，最主要的是要多在例句中對各個表達進行理解記憶。只要能在理解的基礎上記憶，做到靈活運用以上短語，那么考生在考試中碰到任何的比較結構時，都不會再出現束手無策的現象，從此比較結構再也不是考生談之色變的話題。
